Not allowed

What do you buy when you're not allowed to buy anything (and by anything I mean clothes, bags, shoes etc...) because of excessive spending on your holiday? The answer is scarves. Here's one.

Leopard scarf, H&M

Although summer is still here I've started thinking about colder weather, leaves falling, knitwear... Autumn!! Extensive post of what I will covet this Autumn/Winter coming up soon!

Introducing yellow to my wardrobe

I bought a new bag and the shocking thing (well, for me) is that it's yellow! Jewel tones will be huge this autumn/winter, and this bag is the perfect colour... and big enough to carry all my stuff around (easily fits a laptop + more).

Bought it from Greece last week so sorry, don't know the label or remember the store's name! But I'm pretty sure I won't see lots of people in Helsinki walking around with this bag, which is a bonus.

Love,
M

Blazer love

Right now I'm really into blazers. That's especially because I'm always in a hurry in the morning, and it's so easy to just throw together a t-shirt and a blazer and be ready to go to work in 2 minutes. Lazy girl's dream!

My most recent blazer buys:

1. a pink silk (or silk mix) blazer from the flea market. Dare I say how much...? Just two euros. That's what I call a bargain!

 2. a light brown blazer from H&M.

Next I'd like to get a white/light beige blazer. Maybe something like these?

...And Julia shows us what a bad blazer looks like. Tut tut Julia.

Hope to hear your thoughts on the subject! Blazers, hot or not?

M

Finally! Skirt dreams come true...

As you might know, I've been searching for the perfect maxi skirt for a while now. Tonight I finally found what I've been looking for!

I just ordered this sheer pleated maxi skirt from Mikkat Market

For 44$ (about 30€) it's a bargain! I think it's great for both sunny days and long, light nights...

And Mikkat Market is definitely worth your visit, they have so many simple but gorgeous clothes.

Steals and dresses

Hi all,

so last time I promised to share what I bought from the flea market. So here they are.

The flea market is called Valtteri. If you ever travel to Helsinki it's definitely worth the visit.

 Vintage silk shirt, 2 euros

Blazer, 5 euros

Skinny jeans, 2 euros

And then a few new buys...

Flowy top, H&M

 White dress, Nümph
Also on the menu tonight...newest Marie Claire

A style tip (you probably knew already): the flowy top from H&M is size 42, instead of my usual size 36. I bought it too big on purpose because I wanted to use it ass a dress/tunic. So don't be afraid to try on clothes that are too big (or small!), as they might work better that way.

Love, M

Scared of the Dark

Most recent buy: a silk tunic from Zara. Natural fabrics really do feel much better against the skin! I've lately decided to buy more quality than quantity anyway...

Silk tunic, Zara

And few things I found from Sweden's capital Stockholm:

 Band poster, free
Converse shoes 49 kr = about 50 euros

And finally: few songs I've been playing on my iPhone so much my ears hurt... in a good way.

after work bargains

One of my vices is to go shopping from work, mainly cos on my way home I pass all the good shops... Today I just had to pop in Zara and did some bargain finds

Cardigan 7 euros

Leather bag 45 euros

So I put up an outfit for work tomorrow, just something relaxed and comfy (thank god my workplace is really laid back and don't have to wear any kind of uniform).

Cardigan and bag Zara, shorts Gant, sandals and white top H&M
Accessories: second hand watch (and a golden necklace but couln't find it for the photo!)

What's your favourite outfit for work?

new starts and buys

Silver necklace H&M, colourful necklace second hand

It's good to be back! I started this blog a year and a half ago, and while reading my older posts before writing this one I noticed that my style has changed quite a lot during this time. The basics are still there but some things are essentially different.

When I started my style was very bohemian influenced, now it's a mix between laidback jeans girl and the city girl who appreciates the classics like white shirts and tailored jackets. Two summers summers ago my go-to piece would have been a floral dress, now its been boyfriend shorts, nude heels and a stripy loose top. The two neclaces I bought this week (pictured above) capture my current style essentials pretty well: the other is chic, big and chunky, while the other is more fun, pretty and girly.

Having that said, roughly a year ago I wrote a post about my dream bag, which was (and still is) Mulberry Bayswater. I also wrote that that bag would be my first designer bag I would buy. Well that turned out to be untrue, cos here's my first buy, the LV Speedy 25.

It's "vintage" from 1995. I love it, even though I know the Monogram patterned bags are the most copied of all the designer bags... But I think it's so versatile, classic and goes with everything. Of course you are allowed to disagree!

From now on I'll be around a bit more in the blogging world... got my inspiration back!

PS. The pictures of my old posts are a bit off, that's because I changed the layout of the blog. If this is your first visit to my blog and thinking whether you like it or not, hope you don't mind!

faded effect

I bought a new jacket from H&M. It's really short, mid-waist length, and lightweight and stretch material. I really like it, I needed something with attitude to my wardrobe, so I don't start looking like a hippie too much!

knits knits knits

Ok I know it's still summer and all but the closer the start of the schools come the more I start to think about the autumn wardrobe. And my absolute autumn favourites are knits, leather boots and dark jeans. And today I went to hm.com and these knits look so comfy and cute I want them all! (Click to enlarge).

Whats your autumn wardrobe favourite?

Oh and I totally recommend Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor! It's the best conditioner I've ever had! I bought it today after using my roommate's and decided to buy my own bottle. I also bought few basic tees and a cute hairband with a bow, somehow this kind of stuff just jumps into my bag (of course paying them first) when I intend to visit the shops only to buy conditioner! Take care everyone x

new pieces

I bought some new pieces for my jewellery collection from a second hand shop yesterday. What do you think? I especially like the bronze coloured necklace, it will look great with a tan and a white top. But the other one is nice too, a bit heavier and adds more colour to an outfit.

I've been thinking of doing kind of 'what I wore today' type of post but I would have to take the photos myself... Any tips? Is it difficult? Take care lovelies!

love the jeans

Hey all! I wanted to get to know my destination a little beforehand, and what better way to that than reading streetstyle blogs! The pictures are from street style blogs of Singapore, my first destination (click to enlarge). Looks like the Singaporeans got some serious style! Can't wait to get there, also because of the shopping opportunities...

I've been a lazy blogger this week, I've been busy with final arrangements with school and also packing everything for my trip... almost 4 weeks in Asia (first we are going to travel to Singapore, then to Cambodia and finally Thailand). I'm so excited!

I bought this cute skirt yesterday for more formal occasions and business visits... it was hard to find something pretty but appropriate!

The shape of the skirt is nice, its between a-line and tulip shape. And I really like the bow, it clinches the waist nicely and adds more womanly shape.

I hope I'm able to blog while travelling, but I make no promises! See you, have a good weekend! xx
